Vietnam Revisited
Why? I’ve been eager to return to Vietnam ever since Saigon fell in 1975. Saigon was home (1955-57), and a destination for two return trips during the War. Hanoi now welcomes Americans and the tourist dollar. My admiration for Vietnamese has always included admiration for the Viet Cong as a fighting force and for Ho Chi Minh as its leader since 1939. Success in war, yes. As for the economy, no. This opportunity to experience Vietnam today, in the South (Saigon), Central (Danang/Hue) and North (Hanoi) is simply irresistible.
